Fence Cleaning & Staining Services

A wood fence is a major property investment. When it starts graying, absorbing water, growing mildew, or looking tired from Georgia sun and humidity, stain prep matters.

Fence Cleaning & Staining Protects a Big Outdoor Investment

A clean, stained fence can change how the entire backyard feels. Long privacy fences frame the property, show in listing photos, and affect the way patios, pools, lawns, and outdoor living spaces look. When a fence is gray, blotchy, mildew-stained, or uneven, the whole yard can look unfinished even if the house and concrete are clean.

Fence staining with proper wood prep helps improve appearance while adding a layer of protection against moisture, sun exposure, and weathering. The best results start before stain is applied. Stain applied over dirt, algae, mildew, or failed coating will not perform the way it should. That is why we handle fence work as one planned prep and staining project.

Our Fence Cleaning and Staining Process

We start by reviewing the fence type, length, height, access, wood condition, and previous coating. Newer pressure-treated fences, older gray fences, cedar, shadowbox fencing, board-on-board privacy fences, gates, and heavily shaded sections can all need different expectations.

When cleaning is needed, we remove organic buildup, dirt, mildew, and loose weathering using a wood-appropriate process. After the fence has been cleaned and allowed to dry properly, we apply the selected stain based on the project details and wood condition. The goal is an even, protected finish that looks intentional from the yard and from the street.

Austin did a fantastic job! He pressure washed my driveway, sidewalks, tops of the stacked stone flowerbeds, two wood privacy fence panels, stone steps, deck, deck chairs and brick/tile. He even checked out a possibly clogged underground pipe that drains the downspouts to my side yard (luckily, turns out it wasn't clogged and the water went right through). Will definitely use Clean Defense Force again. Thank you!

Common questions

Fence Cleaning & Staining Questions

Straight answers about fence cleaning & staining, estimates, and what to expect.

Fence staining pricing depends on linear footage, height, wood condition, cleaning needs, access, stain type, and whether previous coating creates extra prep. Large privacy fences can be substantial projects, so we quote from the actual fence instead of using a generic square-foot guess.

Yes, when the fence needs it. Cleaning and prep are usually the most important parts of a fence staining project because stain should not be applied over mildew, dirt, algae, or loose weathered buildup.

Often, yes. Send the full property address, approximate fence length if you know it, fence height, photos of each side, gate details, and any color goals. Some large or complicated fences may still need an in-person review.

We quote wood privacy fences, cedar fences, treated pine fences, shadowbox fences, board-on-board fencing, gates, and large backyard fence runs. Vinyl and metal fences are cleaning services, not staining services.

Fence staining is best when the wood is clean, dry, and weather allows proper prep and application. Spring, early summer, and fall can all work, but rain, humidity, shade, and wood moisture affect scheduling.
